At our first LG Forum for 2021, our team of Local Government lawyers will provide an informative analysis of the law of contracts and its practical application to Councils.
Councils enter into a wide variety of contracts daily, including contracts dealing with provision of services, funding, occupancy arrangements, sale of land or goods, authorisations and permits, management agreements, construction and works, joint use, confidentiality, employment, consultancy, water, waste, deeds of variation and extension, infrastructure and development, LMA’s, option agreements, sponsorship, intellectual property, project management and many more.
In this interactive session, we will focus on the legal framework within which the LG sector operates, Council’s right to contract, pre contractual considerations, formation of a contract and managing and dealing with non-performance.
We will cover due diligence investigations, procurement and the approach to market, examine the key terms of a contract and discuss what happens when things go wrong.
This event is relevant to those in Governance, Procurement, Property, Planning, Employment or for any Council employee that deals contracts. The Forum will also include a Q&A session with our team.
Places are strictly limited. To register your attendance, please email Laura Hillier ([email protected]) by Tuesday 16 March.
