Adam specialises in employment, work, health and safety, governance and administrative law. He has both public and private sector experience.


Adam joined Mellor Olsson in 2019, bringing with him significant experience in Local Government, employment law and work health and safety. He has worked in both the public and private sectors within South Australia.

Adam worked in the public sector for approximately 14 years’ in roles across the Department of Health, SA Police and Department for Education. Before joining Mellor Olsson, he was employed as a Senior Employee Relations Consultant for the Department for Education. In this role, Adam was responsible for the provision of advice on various employment and industrial relations matters, as well as administrative law matters. This included representation before various courts and tribunals.

He previously held a range of advisory roles within the state government which included the development of governance structures, as well as working for the Legislative Review Committee of the South Australian Parliament, where he was responsible for scrutinising, researching and providing advice to the Committee on subordinate legislation as well as a range of governance, policy and procedural matters. Adam was also responsible for coordinating Parliamentary Inquiries.

Prior to commencing at the Department for Education, Adam worked in private practice, specialising in Local Government and employment law. He provided employment and industrial relations advice and representation to local government, and administrative law advice particularly in relation to responsibilities of government entities and policy development, including workplace health and safety policies and bullying and harassment policies. He was responsible for advice and representation in unfair dismissal matters, drafting employment contracts, advising on industry awards and enterprise bargaining agreements, and reviewing and assessing workplace bullying and harassment claims. Additionally, he conducted minor prosecutions on behalf of local councils in regulatory matters.

Adam previously served as an Executive Committee member for the Australian Institute of Administrative Law (AIAL) SA Branch.
