Evangelos Toskas

Van joined Mellor Olsson in 2024, bringing a wealth of experience from both private practice and the public sector. He has served as a litigation lawyer at the Crown Solicitor’s Office, as a Prosecutor with the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) and South Australia Police, and has extensive experience as a dispute resolution lawyer in commercial practice. His diverse background in handling commercial disputes, coupled with his well-rounded legal experience, equips him with a comprehensive understanding of the legal landscape.

Van also has experience acting as counsel in all South Australian Courts and in briefing members of the independent bar when required. As counsel, Van has successfully argued published interlocutory decisions and has appeared at the trial and appellate level in South Australia (both led and unled). This advocacy experience allows Van to provide his clients with a realistic assessment of their prospects of success in contested matters and to bring a level of pragmatism to disputes.

At Mellor Olsson, Van collaborates closely with Partners on a variety of dispute and litigation matters across numerous sectors. He is admitted to practice as a Barrister & Solicitor in the Supreme Court of South Australia and in the High Court of Australia. Van is client-focused and consistently applies a positive and calm attitude to his work, striving to achieve the best possible outcome for his clients.
