Evyenia Walton is a Partner in Mellor Olsson Lawyers' Corporate and Commercial team and leads the firm's Intellectual Property and Technology practice. She advises business owners, boards, executives, technology companies, universities and growth-focused organisations on corporate, commercial, intellectual property and technology matters. Her expertise includes mergers and acquisitions, governance, commercial contracting, shareholder arrangements, intellectual property commercialisation, technology transactions and business structuring.

With more than two decades of legal experience, Evyenia works closely with clients across the full business lifecycle, from start-up and growth through to acquisition, succession planning and governance. She is particularly valued for her commercially focused and pragmatic approach, helping clients navigate complex legal issues with clear, practical advice that supports confident decision-making and long-term success.

An experienced intellectual property and technology adviser, Evyenia has extensive experience in intellectual property protection, commercialisation, licensing and brand management. She has worked with both of South Australia's universities as an in-house counsel and external adviser, assisting with research commercialisation, joint ventures, technology transfer, intellectual property ownership and collaborative research arrangements.

Evyenia also advises organisations on emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, data protection and privacy. She assists directors, executives and organisations to manage legal, governance and operational risks while embracing innovation and new technologies.

As Chair of the Artificial Intelligence and Data Privacy Committee of the Law Society of South Australia, Evyenia is actively involved in advancing discussion and understanding of the legal and governance challenges arising from emerging technologies.

Prior to joining Mellor Olsson, Evyenia held a leadership role in the corporate and commercial practice of a well-recognised South Australian law firm and previously founded and managed her own successful commercial law practice. She has been recognised by clients and peers for her expertise in commercial and business law, including recognition in Best Lawyers and Doyle's Guide.
