Maria Positano

Maria joined Mellor Olsson in 2026 and advises employers across a broad range of employment, workplace relations and work health and safety matters. She works closely with the broader team to deliver practical, commercially focused advice tailored to each client's circumstances.

Prior to joining Mellor Olsson, Maria practised at a national law firm, where she acted for private and public sector employers in matters including unfair dismissal, adverse action and harassment claims, employment contracts and workplace policies, modern award compliance, wage entitlement disputes, and work health and safety prosecutions under the Work Health and Safety Act 2012 (SA).

Maria also gained valuable experience during a secondment to the civil litigation team of a significant Commonwealth agency.

Earlier in her career, Maria worked as a solicitor at the Crown Solicitor's Office and as an Associate to a Senior Member of the Administrative Appeals Tribunal, now the Administrative Review Tribunal.
