Biography

Nikki Owen joined Mellor Olsson as a Partner in 2024, where she leads our Wills & Estates team. She offers comprehensive estate planning services, including the drafting of Wills, Powers of Attorney, and Advance Care Directives for health and care decisions. Nikki excels in succession planning and asset protection, catering to individuals, business owners, and families, particularly those in the agricultural and farming sectors.

In addition to estate planning, Nikki manages probate and estate administration, with a focus on the complexities of blended family situations and estates that include sole, joint, company, trust, and superannuation assets. She also advises not-for-profits, charities, and their donors on bequests and charitable trusts. By working closely with our commercial and business advisory team, Nikki ensures that clients receive bespoke and tax-effective solutions tailored to their specific needs.

Before joining Mellor Olsson, Nikki practiced as a solicitor in Bath, England, for nearly two decades, leading a reputable Wills, Estates and Asset Protection team for the last ten years. Upon relocating to Adelaide, she qualified and was admitted as a lawyer in South Australia. Nikki's extensive knowledge of UK inheritance tax enables her to adeptly advise clients with UK assets and beneficiaries who have moved to South Australia.

Her personable approach, combined with her technical and professional skills, is highly valued by her clients.
