Charlie joined Mellor Olsson in 2020 as part of our business advisory and property team. He previously practised in Sydney where he was first admitted.

Biography

Charlie has a background in planning and environment law as well as general land and property matters, and has experience advising a wide range of clients including statutory authorities, Local Government and private sector clients.

In his role with Mellor Olsson, Charlie works in the property team on a wide range of matters including the sale and purchase of land, leasing, projects, development, renewable energy, water infrastructure, mining matters, residential parks, retirement villages, possessory title and more.

Charlie also has considerable experience in land acquisition matters and can assist clients in understanding and enforcing their rights if facing the prospect of having their land compulsorily acquired by the government or statutory authorities.

His work spans across properties of a commercial, industrial and agricultural nature, for clients in the retail, manufacturing, hospitality, tourism, education, agricultural, mining and industrial sectors.

In his work on a variety of commercial, property and infrastructure projects, Charlie is regularly drafting documentation for commercial contracts, service agreements, procurement, sale and purchase of land, community land, encroachments, compulsory acquisition, Crown land, roads, governance and policy development.

Charlie can also provide detailed and specific advice with respect to general property issues, planning law, the Local Government Act 1999 (SA), and any other legislation relevant to Local Government decision making.
